Ohtani’s doctor speaks out as Dodgers patiently wait for Japanese sensation to pitch again

Everyone in Major League Baseball, and not just in the Los Angeles Dodgers environment, is waiting for the moment when the two-way phenomenon, Shohei Ohtani, gets back on the mound to show the power of his arm as a pitcher, something that characterizes him and that for many puts him on a par with a legend like Babe Ruth.

No rush to force 700 million

There has been a lot of speculation and Ohtani has been patient for when the time comes, and without any rush he has done the other part that is up to him, to produce in the batter’s box and offensively, something that last season made all the hot ball fans vibrate when they saw his 50-50 (home runs and stolen bases).

There is no doubt that Ohtani will break records again this season and everyone is looking forward to the possibility of new milestones that the Japanese player will set in his second season with the Dodgers after signing a historic 10-year, $700 million contract. And he is also expected to do so from the pitcher’s mound.

Ohtani will pitch soon, but no date is set

Ohtani has not taken the mound since he was injured in 2023, and the injury to his shoulder during the last World Series has delayed everything, however, the Dodgers’ medical staff who are evaluating the player’s possibilities every second has said in recent days that the Dodgers visited Japan – and where the player shone brightly – that Ohtani’s return as a pitcher is closer.

The fact is that no one wants to rush anything, and although Dr. Neil Ellertrosh said that Ohtani would be ready in March, he also said that no date has been specified for him to pitch again as they want to make sure everything is under control and on a perfect schedule that does not put the player at risk.
