Noelle Quinn will not continue with Seattle Storm and they are looking for a new coach after Playoff elimination

The Seattle Storm were unable to continue their Playoff run after the Las Vegas Aces took the series 2-1. Despite the team’s best efforts and after cutting off a 16-game winning streak by A’ja Wilson and company, the Noelle Quinn-led Storm were unable to advance to the Semifinals.

However, on Sunday, September 21, the team announced that the coach’s contract will not be renewed for the 2026 season.

Quinn says goodbye to Seattle

The truth is that the game slipped through their fingers. Erica Wheeler missed the basket that would have given Seattle the victory. Finally, Game 3 ended in favor of the Aces by 74-73.

Now, Storm shared on its official website a statement, expressing that the 40-year-old coach will not continue with the team next year:

“On behalf of our organization, I would like to thank Noelle for her time with the Storm. Her commitment to the ongoing success of our organization and to furthering the development of our players was second to none,” said Storm General Manager Talisa Rhea.

“She put us in a position to win at the highest levels of the game and for that, we are grateful,” she added.

Quinn leaves the team where she not only performed as a coach, but also as a player. In 2013, Noelle wore and defended Seattle’s colors to do it again in 2016 and fight for the championship in 2018.

When she decided to retire, she decided to stay with the team as an assistant coach in 2020. A year later, she was already head coach of Storm. She achieved the second most wins (97) of the franchise and qualified to four of five Playoffs.

Although her departure from the team has a bittersweet taste due to the recent loss, it is safe to say that the legacy Quinn leaves behind will be indelible.

Meanwhile, to conclude the press release, the team announced that it is already looking for a new head coach for next season.
