In response, Baldoni launched a $400 million countersuit in January 2025, alleging extortion and defamation. The legal drama escalated when Baldoni claimed Lively “weaponized her friendship” with Swift.
Text messages surfaced where Lively referred to Swift and her husband Ryan Reynolds as her “dragons,” implying their support in the conflict.
