The day, the night, and every detail set the perfect stage for the Canelo Álvarez vs. Terence Crawford showdown. In the spectacular arena that Las Vegas is famous for, two of the world’s top boxers clashed in a fierce battle for the 168-pound world championship. Fans were on the edge of their seats from the opening bell.

Crawford was ready to face Canelo Álvarez, determined to claim the champion’s belt and prove why he holds the longest active winning streak among professional boxers. Boxing reached its peak, with the main event delivering an unforgettable spectacle for fans around the world.

Nevertheless, for Mexican fans, the result was unexpected as the American boxer secured the victory and was crowned world champion. Crawford delivered a commanding performance against a Canelo Álvarez who was unable to match his speed and strategy.

Epic night of boxing at Allegiant Stadium

Allegiant Stadium experienced a full day of boxing, marking a major success for the home of the Raiders. With numerous preliminary bouts producing winners like Mohammed Alakel, Brandon Adams, Jermain Franklin, and Reito Tsutsumi, the evening of action set the stage and fired up the crowd for the main-event showdown.

However, attention soared during a super fight that became one of the fiercest bouts of the evening. Canadian boxer Christian Mbilli faced Guatemalan fighter Lester Martínez in an intense 10-round battle. After the final bell, the match ended in a split-decision draw, but Mbilli retained his WBC International Super Middleweight title.

After Mbilli retained his title, it was time for the co-main event, widely regarded as one of the most intense battles of the evening. The bout featured two undefeated fighters: Fernando Vargas, boasting a 17-0 record with multiple knockouts, and Irish boxer Callum Walsh, standing at 14-0.

In the end, Walsh emerged victorious by unanimous decision, remaining undefeated after an extraordinary fight. The outcome was a tough blow for Vargas, who suffered his first professional defeat in the ring.

Las Vegas: where boxers become legends

Undoubtedly, Terence Crawford’s entrance to the ring was met with a charged atmosphere, not due to crowd hostility, but thanks to the mariachi music echoing throughout the arena. The U.S. boxer made his way to the ring wearing black, red, and green shorts, fully prepared to face Canelo Álvarez.

On the other side, Canelo Álvarez made a spectacular entrance, accompanied by loud mariachi music, dazzling lights, and cheers from the majority of the crowd. Wearing his black and gold shorts, the Mexican champion stepped into the ring ready for battle, determined to defend his title.

What was expected to be a celebration at Allegiant Stadium turned into a nightmare for Canelo Álvarez, as Terence Crawford quickly took control of the fight. Using his speed and precise counterattacks, Crawford consistently outmaneuvered the Mexican champion.

At times during the fight, Canelo Álvarez attempted to land a variety of jabs and crosses on the American boxer, but many missed their mark. Although Álvarez improved his performance in the later rounds, it ultimately wasn’t enough to turn the tide in his favor.

In the end, Canelo Álvarez was unable to withstand Crawford’s dominance and relinquished his championship belt. One thing is certain: Canelo is likely to seek a rematch to reclaim the 168-pound world title. After 12 rounds, the judges awarded Crawford a unanimous decision victory, marking the third defeat of Canelo’s professional career.

In front of more than 70,000 fans, Terence Crawford raised his arms in triumph, having been crowned champion after a masterful performance. He not only extended his undefeated record but also solidified his status as the active boxer with the longest winning streak, now crowned the undisputed champion.
