Nico Harrison is undoubtedly the most hated person in Dallas. The Mavericks‘ general manager got into trouble when he traded Luka Doncic to Los Angeles.
Fans will never forgive him. Trading Anthony to Dallas and Doncic to LA changed the game, making it one of the most surprising trades in NBA history. Since that day, Harrison has earned massive hate from loyal Mavericks fans, and rightfully so. He disrespectfully removed the “face” of the franchise from the team.
Not even Luka Doncic could believe it. Whenever he has the opportunity to talk about his surprising departure, he takes a direct jab at Nico.
Everything Nico Harrison is involved in is under scrutiny, and he won’t escape criticism. He knows the fans don’t want him. We shouldn’t look back so far when something unusual happened in a game. The fans started chanting, “Fire Nico,” and the manager was in the stands looking ashamed.
Nico Harrison does it again
Yes, his decisions on the court are highly questionable, but he’s also making waves off the court.
On Monday, the New York Knicks‘ coaching staff, led by two former Mavericks coaches, was named NBA Coach of the Year. Following the news, many fans expressed their dissatisfaction with Harrison on social media.
“Nico gets rid of these guys, and his whole team gets injured-including Luka-and he blames Luka’s injury on the trade, so he trades Luka. And the NBA just lets him undo all the damage by giving him Flagg.”
“You can thank Nico for firing Casey Smith.”
“Nico has to go right now. Going from the best medical staff to hiring unqualified people should get you fired.”
“This isn’t sad anymore; it’s just funny. This guy shouldn’t be allowed to set foot in the American Airlines Center ever again.”
These were some of the comments posted on social media. The relationship between Nico and the fans is completely broken.Dallas fans will probably celebrate Harrison‘s departure from the Mavericks as if it’s a championship.
Much to the dismay of those loyal fans, that day doesn’t seem to be coming anytime soon. We’ll see if Flagg‘s arrival changes the atmosphere of a franchise that has endured many setbacks this year.
