Two weeks after the arrest of Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in the United States, his family has faced difficult times due to alleged immigration problems and an arrest warrant in Mexico related to links with organized crime, specifically with the Sinaloa Cartel.

While the junior remains in custody and under accelerated deportation proceedings, his younger sister, Nicky Chavez, broke her silence in an interview with Yordi Rosado, telling how her family is living, especially her father and Mexican boxing legend.

Julio Cesar Chavez suffers for his son: “It’s hard to see my dad like that”

During the interview, Nicky could not hold back tears as she spoke about how this situation has affected her father and the whole family. Although the champion has tried to maintain a strong image in public, his daughter says the situation has affected him deeply.

It’s hard to see my father suffer for my brothers, it’s hard, it’s sad. My dad is not going to cry in every place where they see him, but as we saw him at home, of course we are drawing strength I do not know from where

He also mentioned that the family has come together as it has not done for years, finding mutual support in the face of a reality that has hit them hard. “We are connected as we have not been for a long time, perhaps for something bad, but we are together,” he said

The champion’s daughter also strongly defended her brothers, although she acknowledged that no one can completely guarantee the actions of another person, but she is confident that Chavez is not involved in organized crime

You can’t put your hands in the fire for anyone because you’re not with that person all the time, but I do know that my brother is not a bad person, he’s not a criminal and he’s never worked for any cartel

He also said that despite the addiction problems his brother has had, he does not deserve to be treated like a criminal and that his family had regained hope in Chavez Jr’s last fight against Jake Paul to see him happy to be in the ring. For now, Nicky and his family are waiting for the legal resolution in the United States and the possible deportation of Julio Cesar to Mexico.
