NFL Super Bowl LXI Odds: Seahawks favored to repeat, Chiefs and Patriots trail behind

The confetti has barely settled on the Seattle Seahawks’ Super Bowl 60 victory, but oddsmakers are already betting on a repeat. According to the opening lines at BetMGM, the Seattle Seahawks (+800) have emerged as the clear favorites to hoist the Lombardi Trophy again next year.

While the Seahawks sit atop the mountain, former league juggernauts are struggling to keep pace in the eyes of Vegas.

Both the Kansas City Chiefs and the New England Patriots-two franchises that have defined the last decade of NFL dominance-find themselves significantly behind the leaders, opening with 15-1 odds.

NFC West dominance

The early outlook for Super Bowl LXI suggests a power shift toward the NFC West. The Seahawks and their division rival, the Los Angeles Rams (+900), are the only two teams in the league currently carrying single-digit odds.

Behind them, the Buffalo Bills and Baltimore Ravens represent the AFC’s best hopes at 12-1, while the Philadelphia Eagles and Green Bay Packers sit just outside the top tier at 14-1.

Breaking the “longshot” curse

Seattle’s victory in Super Bowl 60 was more than just a championship; it was a historic betting anomaly. Before this season, no team with preseason odds worse than 40-1 had won the Big Game since the 2001 Patriots (60-1).

The Seahawks mirrored that feat exactly, winning it all after entering the season as 60-1 longshots.

At the other end of the spectrum, the Arizona Cardinals, New York Jets, and Miami Dolphins face the steepest climb for 2027, all tied with the longest odds in the league at 250-1.
