NFL reporter Erin Andrews shares confession that surprises fans

Erin Andrews, one of the most recognized faces on NFL sidelines, recently offered a humorous and personal revelation that caught both her fans and her podcast co-host off guard. Known for her professionalism during high-stakes football broadcasts, the FOX Sports reporter stepped away from the mic to let listeners into a more relatable side of her life on a recent episode of her podcast, Calm Down with Erin and Charissa.

Andrews, who will return this fall as part of FOX’s top NFL broadcast team alongside Kevin Burkhardt, Tom Brady, and Tom Rinaldi, was speaking with co-host Charissa Thompson when the topic of pre-marriage living arrangements came up. That’s when she shared something unexpected, even to her closest friends.

“I didn’t live with a guy until Jarret,” Andrews revealed, referring to her husband, former NHL player Jarret Stoll.

Thompson, clearly taken aback, asked in disbelief: “Really? He was the first guy you lived with?”

Andrews confirmed it was true, and with her trademark wit, explained that living with a partner came with some steep learning curves.

“I learned real quick that I couldn’t leave my drunk night, jeans with the undies in them, next to my bedside for more than a day,” she joked. “Or he’d be like, ‘hey, what’s going on over here?’ You know, the quick, I’m like, I’ve had a couple to drink, and I’m just throwing myself in bed and it all kind of comes off in one thing.”

A mix of humor and honesty defines Andrews’ growing legacy

The candid moment was both funny and refreshing. Fans of Andrews are used to seeing her in a high-pressure setting, interviewing top athletes or delivering live reports from the field. But through her podcast with Thompson, she’s been able to shed some of that media polish and share the real-life ups and downs that come with being a working mom, wife, and public figure.

Andrews married Jarret Stoll in 2017 after several years of dating. The former professional hockey player, who won two Stanley Cups with the Los Angeles Kings, has also supported Andrews through a widely publicized fertility journey. The couple welcomed their son, Mack, in 2023, a major life event Andrews has opened up about with remarkable grace and vulnerability.

Though she’s known for sideline work, Andrews’ voice has grown even stronger through podcasting and entrepreneurship. In Calm Down, she and Thompson regularly mix lighthearted stories with meaningful commentary about relationships, careers, and the challenges women face in the sports media landscape.
