NFL legend Randy Moss partners with Miami Dolphins for Crisppi’s expansion

Randy Moss, the Hall of Fame wide receiver, recently made a triumphant return to public life at the grand opening of his Miami-based restaurant, Crisppi’s.

Located on Biscayne Boulevard, the fast-food eatery specializes in fried chicken and waffles, offering fresh, never-frozen tenders and waffles made to order from the owner’s secret recipe.

The event not only celebrated the launch of Moss‘s culinary venture but also marked a significant personal milestone in his recovery from cancer.

The restaurant’s grand opening had been delayed due to Moss‘s health struggles. In late 2024, Moss shared the news that he had been diagnosed with bile duct cancer, a condition that led him to undergo a complex surgery called the Whipple procedure.

This involved the removal of parts of his pancreas, small intestine, gallbladder, and bile duct. After the surgery, Moss spent a week in the hospital and went through additional treatments, including chemotherapy and radiation.

Moss expressed his gratitude for the support he received during this tough time, stating, “Your boy is a cancer survivor.”

His journey to recovery delayed the restaurant’s opening, but he emphasized that the timing was important.

“We could push the grand opening back a few months until I was able to physically come and show my face,” Moss said, acknowledging how meaningful it was for him to be there in person when the restaurant finally opened.

Crisppi’s partnership with the Miami Dolphins

Moss‘s restaurant venture isn’t just about food. At the grand opening, he announced a five-year partnership with the Miami Dolphins, further cementing the community-oriented vision behind Crisppi’s.

Moss spoke about how the Dolphins recognized the potential for the restaurant to make a positive impact locally, saying, “The Miami Dolphins (have) seen something… our vision of us being able to give something to the community, something tasteful.”

For Moss, this collaboration is deeply personal. Having lived in South Florida for nearly 25 years, he wanted to bring something unique to the area.

“We’ve been getting some great reviews,” he shared, reinforcing his commitment to the community and the positive response Crisppi’s has already received.

A resilient return to ESPN

Moss‘s return to the public eye isn’t limited to his restaurant venture. After undergoing treatment, he made a heartfelt return to ESPN’s “Sunday NFL Countdown” during Super Bowl coverage.

He was greeted with warm messages from colleagues, including Tom Brady and Bill Belichick, showing the love and respect he commands in the football world.

Moss‘ journey from NFL icon to cancer survivor and entrepreneur demonstrates resilience and commitment.

His partnership with the Miami Dolphins and his work with Crisppi’s showcase his dedication to both his community and his business.

As he continues to recover and expand his ventures, Moss remains an inspiration to many, proving that perseverance can lead to meaningful achievements.
