NFL legend Michael Strahan enters EV market with reimagined Porsche 911

Michael Strahan‘s post-NFL life has been defined by reinvention, from dominating on the gridiron to becoming a familiar face on television and a successful entrepreneur in fashion and media.

Now the Super Bowl champion is steering his passion for automobiles into a new chapter by partnering with Kindred Motorworks to bring a classic sports car into the electric age.

Strahan, who retired from the New York Giants nearly two decades ago, has steadily expanded his interests beyond sports and broadcasting. His latest endeavor involves the Kindred EV 911, a limited-run electrified restomod that reimagines one of the most iconic sports cars in automotive history with modern electric power and design.

“I’ve always had a thing for icons. The Kindred EV 911 takes one of the most iconic sports cars ever made and gives it a whole new future,” Strahan wrote on Instagram. “Classic design. All-electric power. Beautifully reimagined. Proud to help introduce it to the world.”

While Strahan‘s name might be most familiar to football fans and morning TV viewers, his enthusiasm for cars dates back to his youth, a connection he’s described as deeply personal and tied to family memories.

“I remember as a kid, being the youngest of six kids, and my dad would love cars too, but we didn’t have fancy cars,” Strahan shared. “We used to go to car shows, we used to go to racetracks when we moved to Germany.”

Blending heritage with modern EV technology

The partnership with Kindred Motorworks places Strahan in the dual role of investor and enthusiast customer.

Kindred, founded by automotive visionary Rob Howard, has built a reputation for meticulously restoring and reengineering classic vehicles, often blending vintage aesthetics with contemporary performance and technology.

The Kindred EV 911 project is a perfect example of that philosophy. While traditional Porsche 911 models are celebrated for their distinctive design and performance legacy, the EV 911 aims to marry those timeless cues with all-electric propulsion, a trend increasingly visible across the broader automotive industry as manufacturers and boutique builders explore electrification without sacrificing character.

Kindred plans a limited production run of just 12 units, underscoring the exclusivity of the build and the bespoke nature of the project. Prospective buyers can expect details on paint and color options to be released starting in August 2026, with deliveries slated for the first quarter of 2027.

Strahan‘s involvement with Kindred adds star power and visibility to the EV 911 initiative, but it also underscores a genuine connection to automotive culture that predates his fame.

As electric vehicles continue to gain traction across the industry, projects like the EV 911 demonstrate how electrification can coexist with nostalgia and artisanal craftsmanship.
