NFL fans speculate: Will Taylor Swift finally headline the Super Bowl 61 Halftime Show in 2027?

Another NFL season has officially come to an end, with the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots closing out the 2025 campaign in a Super Bowl defined by defensive discipline and timely execution.

The Seahawks emerged as the new champions after a 29-13 victory on Sunday, securing their place atop the league and putting a fitting bow on a season that will be remembered for its balance and resilience.

As always, however, the action on the field was only part of the spectacle. Super Bowl 60 once again doubled as a global entertainment event, highlighted by a halftime performance from Bad Bunny that immediately became one of the most talked-about shows in recent memory.

The 31-year-old superstar delivered a high-energy set, brought multiple celebrities onto the stage, and even orchestrated a wedding ceremony for a couple during the performance. Now, could it be time for Taylor Swift?

The decision by the NFL and Apple Music to select Bad Bunny was among the most controversial halftime bookings in Super Bowl history.

While some viewers complained about the limited use of English, many praised the performance for staying largely clean and family-friendly while still delivering a distinctly global flavor.

As with most halftime shows, reaction was divided, but the buzz surrounding it has lingered well beyond the final whistle.

Will Taylor Swift play the Super Bowl LXI halftime show?

With the season and halftime show now in the rearview mirror, sportsbooks have already released early odds on who could headline the next Super Bowl halftime show at SoFi Stadium in February 2027.

While nothing will be confirmed for months, speculation is already rampant among fans and analysts alike. Historically, the NFL reveals its halftime performer well in advance.

Last year, the league and Apple Music unveiled Bad Bunny as their selection in September, suggesting that fans will likely know the Super Bowl 61 headliner before October 2026 arrives.

Until then, betting markets are offering clues about who is currently leading the race. At the top of the list are Miley Cyrus, Cardi B, and Taylor Swift.

Among those names, Swift stands out as the performer many believe the NFL would most like to secure. By 2027, she could be married to Travis Kelce, adding another layer of intrigue to the possibility.

However, Swift has already stated that she would not perform at the Super Bowl if Kelce is playing in the game.

That caveat has led to widespread speculation that any potential halftime appearance would be contingent on Kelce retiring before the 2026 season. The Kansas City Chiefs star has yet to reveal whether he plans to return next year, leaving that question unanswered for now.

Who would you like to see perform at Super Bowl LXI?

Cardi B’s potentially controversial appearance

Meanwhile, Cardi B remains firmly in the conversation after making a cameo appearance during Bad Bunny‘s halftime set on Sunday. Her presence only added fuel to speculation that she could be a future headliner.

She also made headlines off the field, with rumors swirling that she and Stefon Diggs split on the same night. The speculation began after the two reportedly unfollowed each other on Instagram, though neither has confirmed the breakup.

As anticipation builds toward Super Bowl 61, fans are once again reminded that the halftime show is nearly as scrutinized as the game itself.

Whether it’s Taylor Swift, Cardi B, Miley Cyrus, or a surprise selection, the NFL will once again face the challenge of choosing an artist capable of captivating a global audience on the sport’s biggest stage.
