New York Yankees reporter gets splashed with water while interviewing Aaron Judge

New York Yankees rightfielder Aaron Judge is on a hot streak that has him with 34 home runs during the 2025 regular season, which puts him on a pace for at least 60 HRs.

If the California native achieves it, he would have his second 60-homer campaign in the last four years, something that only two sluggers have achieved in the last 30 years: Sammy Sosa and Mark McGwire.

The Yankees need every single one of Judge’s homers if they want to go back to the World Series, after falling in the October classic last year to the Los Angeles Dodgers. The New York team is currently second in the American League East (52-41 record), behind the Toronto Blue Jays.

Aaron Judge helped his team sealed a 6-5 victory over the Seattle Mariners with a sacrifice fly at Yankee Stadium, capping a gritty comeback after the Big Apple team were held hitless into the eight inning, a much needed win against an American League rival.

The Yankees spilled from the dugout to celebrate, briefly paused by an umpire review that confirmed what they already knew. Soon, Frank Sinatra sang again, marking New York‘s third walk-off win of the season and fourth consecutive victory.

The team posted a video on social media where they showed just how much the Yankees were excited for the win, with some players wanted to splash Judge with water but failed, instead getting the team’s clubhouse reporter Meredith Marakovits drenched.

The Yankees are going to look for some pitchers

New York Yankees general manager Brian Cashman stated this week when he said the team will be looking for pitching upgrades this month. Given the injuries sustained by New York’s pitching staff this season, the Yankees‘ executive will spend the next three weeks searching for rotation help.

But they will also look for upgrades on the field, such as third base. That doesn’t guarantee anything, but it’s the time of year now,” Cashman said. “So, I’ll be looking for-obviously we’ve lost three starters out of our World Series rotation this year, so I definitely would look to see if I can find a starter.”

The general manager would certainly love to import a starter and some relievers “because our bullpen has been taxed and some injuries, and yeah, an infielder as well. If possible. That’s a long list, and I’m not sure if this will be a deep deadline or not… but we will try to be active, I can tell you that.”
