New York Yankees get trolled by Miami Marlins after being swept and exhibited all their troubles

The New York Yankees are struggling mightily, and their streak of poor results is starting to outweigh their victories, putting them in a concerning situation within the American League East division. This weekend, when it seemed things might turn around, that wasn’t the case, as they were swept by the Miami Marlins, who have turned their season around to become one of the hottest teams in all of MLB.

The Marlins‘ sweep was historic, and they took the opportunity to troll the Yankees just a few outs away from securing their final victory in Miami.

The Marlins’ trolling of the New York Yankees

For the first time in the franchise history of the Miami Marlins, they managed to sweep the Yankees, and they seized the moment to mock the visiting team by playing a song associated with their archrival, the Boston Red Sox.

Three outs before sealing a 7-3 victory on Sunday, “Sweet Caroline” blared through LoanDepot Park, as reported by journalist Daniel Álvarez on X.

The Miami Marlins are the only team in MLB history without a losing record against the Yankees in the regular season. They hold an overall positive record, including their victory in the 2003 World Series.

The Yankees now sit in third place in the American League East, 4.5 games behind the leader, Toronto Blue Jays, and trailing the second-place Boston Red Sox.

The current state of Aaron Boone‘s team is deeply concerning because, while they can currently claim a Wild Card spot in the MLB postseason, other teams are pushing hard. If they don’t turn things around, they could even miss out on the next phase, just a year after playing in the World Series.
