The Baltimore Ravens drafted 11 players during the 2025 NFL Draft, boosting their defense as they prepare for a season that can solidify their chances of winning a Super Bowl.
After finishing the 2024 seasons with the top-ranked offense – fueled by superstar quarterback Lamar Jackson and supreme running back Derrick Henry – the Ravens wanted to power up the deffensive side of the ball.
Their first pick was safety Malaki Starks out of Georgia. The former Bulldog standout brings premier playmaking ability, athleticism, smarts, and leadership. Starks is “wired like a Raven” both on and off the field, checking every box, but his calling card may be his versatility.
New Ravens kicker hits a 75-yard field goal
The Baltimore Ravens also selected kicker Tyler Loop out of Arizona with the 186th pick on round six of the NFL Draft. It’s the first time the AFC team drafted a placekicker in franchise history. Loop has without a doubt the biggest leg in this year’s class.
He made a school-record 62-yard field goald during the 2024 season and converted 63 of 80 field goald attempts over his career, a superb 83.8%. The Lucas, Texas native was six for nine on field goals of at least 50 yards last year, so he comes with a big resumé under his hand.
And his impressive kicking ability was shown in a video posted on social media, where Loop hits a 75-yard field goal with ease during a warmup, something that surprised fans. “Bro only has leg day,” an X user commented. “As long as he can do it when it matters… that is all that matters,” someone else added.
Justin Tucker with one foot out the door
Fans also noticed that, with Loop’s kicking ability, iconic Ravens kicker Justin Tucker might have one foot out the door. The veteran has been named in seven allegations of inappropiate sexual conduct at upscale spas, with 16 total different cases.
According to an investigation, the events occurred between 2012 and 2016 with 16 therapists in eight spas, the same years as his early years in the NFL that were published in the Baltimore Banner in late January and two weeks later more victims have come forward to denounce Tucker’s behavior.
Justin has denied allegations of sexual misconduct, responding to new claims while also issuing an apology. In a statement to Outkick on February, Tucker expressed his devastation over the situation but maintained his innocence. “It devastates me to know that anyone I have worked with would not have felt respected and valued as a professional, but more importantly as a person, and to anyone who has felt otherwise, I am sorry,” he said.
