The New Orleans Pelicans 2025 Baby Crawl Race Contest gave NBA fans one of the best displays of speed that we have seen on the court in a long time.

The contest involved infants between the ages of nine and eleven months old that were New Orleans, Louisiana residents.

The entry was based on criteria of enthusiasm for the New Orleans Pelicans, cuteness, and smile. There were twenty contestants, with each one receiving two tickets to the Pelicans home game in New Orleans, official team’s racing onesie for the infant, which included a beanie, blanket, and night light.

Participant New Bawlins steals the show

The rules were simple: the first infant to crawl across the designated finish line or the baby leading when time expired, without walking or other disqualification, was going to be the winner. Some fans thought it was going to be a close race but it was far from that.

Contestant New Bawlins stole the show. Since the moment the race started, the cute baby was on a mission to show the fans gathered at the Smoothie King Center that he had the power and determination to reach the finish line first.

The incredible feast got fans excited as they appreciated the speed and the talent they got to witness. New Bawlins was the Grand Prize Winner and he will receive a toddler water table, one wagon, a mini-hoop basketball set, one scooter, one toddler tower; and one slide, as well as one commemorative trophy . The total ARV of Grand Prize was $418.

Pelicans beat the Spurs at home

The New Orleans Pelicans capped a come-from-behind victory over the San Antonio Spurs by seizing a double-digit lead in the final stanza, rallying from down 17 points to prevail by a comfortable margin. A big part of the win was Zion Williamson’s performance.

While Williamson led the scoring rundown with 22 points, six other Pelicans also reached double digits, including a career high from rookie backup center Karlo Matkovic (19 points, his previous best was 13).

Trade pickup Kelly Olynyk (14 points, 15 rebounds) quickly made a dent in the stat sheet with buckets, boards and assists in his New Orleans home debut, registering a double-double. Pelicans rookie first-round pick Yves Missi finished with 15 rebounds (six on offense).
