Netflix continues to demonstrate that it is betting heavily on boxing, securing exclusive broadcasts of fights that arouse great expectations among boxing fans.

After the historic clash between Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford, which brought together more than 41 million viewers on the platform, now prepares the exhibition showdown between Jake Paul and Gervonta Davis, a clash that could even have a greater number of viewers.

Jake Paul vs Gervonta Davis, scheduled for November 14 at the Kaseya Center in Miami, is a fight that seems to ensure a spectacle, which has proven to be guaranteed in the fights in which Paul has participated, so to think of a new audience record in the streaming era is not far-fetched.

The Jake Paul phenomenon in boxing

Jake Paul has shown a great ability to transform his fights into media events, the best proof of which is the exhibition against Mike Tyson in November 2024, which surpassed 108 million views on Netflix, a number that seemed impossible to reach in combat sports.

Now, with a high-profile opponent like Gervonta “Tank” Davis, interest has skyrocketed, and according to data from Boxing Only Full Fights on Instagram, the first face-off between the two reached 14.4 million views and 462,000 likes in just two days, doubling the impact of the face-off between Canelo and Crawford.

An official winner

One of the peculiarities that increases the expectation is that, unlike other exhibitions, this fight will declare a winner, although it will not count towards either fighter’s professional record. This detail has further motivated fans, who see the clash as a mixture of spectacle and real competitiveness.

Full fight card for Jake Paul vs Gervonta Davis

The event will not depend solely on Jake Paul and Gervonta Davis, as Netflix has prepared a ‘four-course menu’, four world championship fights prior to the main fight:

  • Alycia Baumgardner will defend her Ring, IBF, WBA and WBO super featherweight titles against Canada’s Leila Beaudoin in a historic 12-round, three-minute women’s bout.
  • In the super lightweight division, Gary Antuanne Russell will face undefeated Japanese fighter Andy Hiraoka in the first defense of his WBA belt.
  • Britain’s Ellie Scotney will clash with Mexico’s Mayelli Flores for the undisputed super bantamweight championship.
  • Costa Rican Yokasta Valle will put her WBC minimumweight world title on the line against Mexican Yadira Bustillos.
  • In addition, Avious Griffin will face Cesar Francis in a bout with a high probability of ending in a knockout.
