Neither Travis Kelce nor Jake Ferguson: The 10 best TEs for fantasy football in 2025

In the world of Fantasy Football 2025, a position that often goes unnoticed but can be the difference between winning or losing a week is the tight end (TE). And while Travis Kelce has been the king of this position for years, and Jake Ferguson is starting to earn his place with the Cowboys, this year there are new names that are ready to shine.

If you’re preparing for your fantasy draft or playing in a PPR, standard or dynasty league, this list of the top 10 tight ends for 2025 will give you an edge over your rivals

Travis Kelce has been a Fantasy Football points machine for almost a decade. But in 2024, his production dropped, and in 2025, he is getting older and the Kansas City offense is diversifying. In addition, other young TEs are taking on leading roles in their offenses. That doesn’t mean Kelce is no longer useful, but it does mean that he is no longer the undisputed #1 TE.

The top 10 tight ends for Fantasy Football 2025

  1. Sam LaPorta – Detroit Lions: The young Lions TE exploded in 2024 with over 1,000 yards and eight touchdowns. He is a key part of Detroit’s offensive scheme and his volume is expected to continue to grow. Ideal for PPR leagues.
  2. Mark Andrews – Baltimore Ravens: Although he suffered an injury in 2024, Andrews remains Lamar Jackson’s favorite red zone target. If he stays healthy, he has top 3 potential at the position.
  3. Dalton Kincaid – Buffalo Bills: With Stefon Diggs out, Kincaid could become Josh Allen’s primary receiver. His ability to find space makes him lethal in fantasy.
  4. Trey McBride – Arizona Cardinals: With Kyler Murray back, McBride finished 2024 as one of the most productive TEs of the last month. In 2025, he will be an essential part of Arizona’s attack.
  5. Kyle Pitts – Atlanta Falcons: Yes, he has been a disappointment, but with a new offensive scheme and a better QB, many analysts believe 2025 will be his breakout year.
  6. George Kittle – San Francisco 49ers: Always a fantasy favorite. Although he suffers from the distribution of the ball among so many stars, he is still a constant threat, especially in big games.
  7. Jake Ferguson – Dallas Cowboys: Ferguson earned Dak Prescott’s trust in 2024. While not as explosive as others on this list, he is consistent and reliable.
  8. Travis Kelce – Kansas City Chiefs: Yes, he’s still in the top 10. Although his production dropped, Kelce still has chemistry with Mahomes and can deliver winning weeks. It’s just that he’s no longer the undisputed king.
  9. David Njoku – Cleveland Browns: In 2024 he had his best year as a professional. If Deshaun Watson gets back to his best, Njoku could have a breakout season.
  10. Pat Freiermuth – Pittsburgh Steelers: Despite an inconsistent campaign, Freiermuth has the tools to excel if Pittsburgh improves its aerial attack.

Keys to choosing a good TE in your Fantasy Football draft

  • Look for target volume: The best TEs are not necessarily the most athletic, but the ones who receive the ball the most. A tight end with 5-8 targets per game is more valuable than one with only 2-3, even if he has more touchdowns.
  • Prioritize PPR leagues: If you play in leagues with points per reception, TEs who participate more in the passing game have an advantage. LaPorta, Kincaid and McBride shine in this format.
  • Don’t get hung up on big names: Sometimes players like Kelce have more name than production. Look at last season’s data and the team context.

A new era of TEs and Fantasy Football has begun

In deeper leagues or dynasty, you can consider rookie TEs such as Brock Bowers (Raiders) or Ja’Tavion Sanders (Panthers), who could have an impact from their first year. There are also options such as Luke Musgrave (Packers) or Chigoziem Okonkwo (Titans) who could explode if circumstances favor them.

Fantasy Football in 2025 shows us a generational change at the tight end position. It’s no longer enough to go for the most famous name. Nowadays, there is more depth and young options ready to dominate the league. So if you want to get ahead in your draft, stop thinking about Kelce and look to the new fantasy leaders.
