Neither Joe Flacco nor Deshaun Watson: These Browns are the real assets for dynasty fantasy football

If we had a time clock and could bring Joe Flacco back to his starring role or find a cure for Deshaun Watson’s ailments, we might think of them for our fantasy football team. But the reality is different

The first is 40 years old, the second is closer to spiritual retirement than being a top-20 QB in the NFL. And the rest –Shedeur Sanders, Kenny Pickett, Dillon Gabriel– sound more like an experiment than a solid plan.

But the Browns have other pieces that are worth their weight in gold and here we are going to review them so you can choose well when it’s your turn

The Browns’ talent

Quinshon Judkins is a true RB1 option and should be on your shortlist. He is 21 years old, played at Ohio State, and projections have him as a top-24 in fantasy dynasty.Judkins is a tank with feline agility. He has no rivals within the team. The running back position is his and he promises to be a torrent of pure volume and production, things that count, or rather, that are everything in fantasy

Behind him we have Jerome Ford, who is still useful as a deep RB3, but his ceiling is limited. Judkins is here to stay and be one of those players you pay to watch play.

Safe bets in the aerial chaos

If there is no aerial game, a team is fried, goes an adage in American football. That’s why Jerry Jeudy and David Njoku are pieces that can guarantee points and volume for the Browns and for you in fantasy

Jeudy, 26, leads the group of wide receivers with some hope. The rankings place him as WR16, very generous to seem such a statement, but it is what it is. He has talent and knows the schemes, so it makes sense

He has as a colleague Diontae Johnson, who can take away volume, but we already know that this player makes a lot of noise and does little. More name and paraphernalia than touchdowns.

In this group, the real surprise is David Njoku, the 29-year-old tight end, who ranks 11th among TEs in 2024. This is no coincidence. He is one of the few at his position who combines physicality, chemistry and promises stability with the quarterback on duty

And with the number of improvised QBs that are going to parade in Cleveland, having a TE who can make short plays and turn them into yards is worth its weight in gold.

You can fall into something called the trap of pretty names. Watson was a star, yes. Flacco won a Super Bowl, MVP, elite, great, yes. Shedeur Sanders has a name that transcends, he is famous

But this is not how you win championships. In fantasy dynasty you need players who produce on the field, with roles, specific functions and high ceilings. You can get that in Judkins, Njoku and, to a lesser extent, Jeudy.
