Neither Brock Purdy nor Trevor Lawrence: Fantasy Football Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em Week 5

With teams like the Pittsburgh Steelers, Atlanta Falcons, Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears on bye, many lineups have been weakened. However, quarterbacks such as Justin Fields and Drake Maye emerge as very attractive options.

Fields has a solid floor thanks to his rushing and faces a Dallas defense that has allowed many touchdowns through the air. Maye, meanwhile, has been a pleasant surprise with his consistency and mobility, making him a great candidate against a Buffalo defense that has been vulnerable to mobile QBs.

Jaxson Dart is a rookie who has shown dangerous legs in the red zone and faces a secondary that has given up key points. Jared Goff, despite his erratic start, has a favorable matchup against Cincinnati and remains a reliable option.

Explosive running backs and receivers for NFL Week 5

In the backfield, less conventional names such as Woody Marks could shine. Marks comes off a game where he surpassed Nick Chubb in touches and faces a battered Ravens defense

Among the receivers, Chris Olave should remain a regular starter now that he has found the end zone again and continues to have elite target volume. Another interesting sleeper is Elic Ayomanor, who has gained prominence and could explode against a defense that allows many receptions, but few touchdowns.

Players you should bench: the stars who could disappoint in Fantasy this NFL week

Although they are usually regular starters, Brock Purdy and Trevor Lawrence have everything against them this week. Purdy is coming off an injury and faces a Rams defense that has contained him well in the past. He has thrown zero touchdowns in two of three games against them and Los Angeles’ pressure puts him in a very risky position.

In Lawrence’s case, he faces a defense that has slowed down big names like Lamar Jackson and Jalen Hurts. His inconsistency and Kansas City’s defensive tendencies make him an unattractive option, even if the game turns into a shootout.

Other players who should not be in your lineup in NFL Week 5 in Fantasy

Among the runners, Jordan Mason has a brutal matchup against a defensive line that allows less than three yards per carry. Similarly, Jacory Croskey-Merrit is stuck in an undefined committee with a tough matchup.

In the air game, Jerry Jeudy continues to be unproductive, with less than 50 yards per game and zero touchdowns, as well as facing a secondary that has been one of the best against WRs. DeVonta Smith, on the other hand, has had less volume and depth in his game and faces a defense that limits aerial damage.
