No one argues here. Cooper Flagg is the No. 1 pick everywhere. The 6’9″ Duke forward is seen as a once-in-a-lifetime player with top skills, ways to play, and lead. He scored 19.4 points, got 7.6 rebounds, and gave 4.2 assists, hitting 39% threes. He’s set to join a young Mavericks team and many see him as a future Rookie of the Year.

Dylan Harper

The Spurs might go for Dylan Harper, a tall 6’6″ guard from Rutgers. He acomplished 19.4 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 4.0 assists and is known for his smart moves and tough game. Putting him with Victor Wembanyama and Stephon Castle could make the Spurs fun to watch.

No. 3: Philadelphia 76ers – VJ Edgecombe, G/F, Baylor

VJ Edgecombe

Ace Bailey was once sure to be top three, but things changed. It is said that, as of today, theSixers are likely to pick VJ Edgecombe, a lively Baylor wing player known for his high jump and strong defense. He will obviously fit well with Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey.

No. 4: Charlotte Hornets – Ace Bailey, F, Rutgers

Ace Bailey

Despite falling a bit, Ace Bailey is still seen as a big-time player. The 6’10” Rutgers forward scored 17.6 points and had 7.2 rebounds, known as a top scorer in the draft. Some worry about his pre-draft work, but Charlotte could take the chance, hoping he’s worth the risk.

More Top First-Round Picks:

  • Tre Johnson from Texas might go No. 5 to the Utah Jazz, bringing strong scoring and shooting skills.
  • Kon Knueppel from Duke, known for his sharp shooting, could go to the Wizards at No. 6.
  • Jeremiah Fears from Oklahoma and Khaman Maluach from Duke are in the top 10, both seen as high-potential players.

This year, there are only 59 picks as the New York Knicks lost a pick due to rule breaking. While the top picks are full of stars, the depth drops after that. Yet, teams hope to find hidden talents late in the first and second rounds.

Rutgers makes history this year, with two players, Harper and Bailey, likely in the top five.

With Cooper Flagg sure at No. 1 and Dylan Harper not far behind, the real drama starts at pick No. 3. Will teams risk it for big potential, or pick ready-to-go players? One thing is sure: the 2025 NBA Draft will change the future of the league.
