The 2025 NBA All-Star Game is introducing an exciting new format: a mini-tournament featuring four teams, each competing for a share of a $1.8 million prize pool.

The teams will be formed from the 24 All-Star players selected through a combination of fan voting, media input, and coach selections.

How much will each NBA All-Star winner get?

The tournament will consist of three games, with the first two being semifinals and the final serving as a championship game.

For each of the first two games, the first team to reach 40 points will be crowned the winner.

The winning team of the championship game will take home the largest prize, with each player earning $125,000.

The three primary NBA teams-Team Chuck, Team Shaq, and Team Kenny-will be drafted by TNT’s Inside the NBA analysts Charles Barkley, Shaquille O’Neal, and Kenny Smith, along with honorary team general managers.

The fourth team, Team Candace, will consist of the champions of the Castrol Rising Stars game, led by WNBA legend Candace Parker.

The NBA All-Star Game’s prize money will be distributed as follows:

  • $125,000 per player for those on the winning team
  • $50,000 per player for the second-place finishers
  • $25,000 per player for the third- and fourth-place teams

In the opening matchups, Kenny’s Young Stars will face Chuck’s Global Stars, while Shaq’s OGs will take on Candace’s Rising Stars.

Each game’s outcome will bring the winning teams one step closer to the championship game, where they will compete for the grand prize.

The 2025 NBA All-Star festivities will culminate on Sunday, February 16, at 8 p.m. ET, when the tournament’s championship game will air live on TNT.

This year’s format promises to elevate the excitement of the All-Star weekend, offering fans a new twist on the traditional exhibition game and a chance to see the league’s top players battle it out for a significant payday.

The updated All-Star Game prize structure marks a significant shift, combining the allure of competition with the added incentive of a substantial financial reward for the players involved.

Fans can expect a thrilling showcase of talent and intensity this weekend in San Francisco’s Chase Center.
