It was great to see Naomi Osaka return to top form as she reached the final of the National Bank Open in Montreal. There, she offered a glimpse of her past brilliance, battling for a title after going three years without reaching a final. Her performance was a testament to the hard work she has put in, despite the challenges posed by her current coaching situation.

Now, her next objective is just around the corner: the 2025 US Open is about to begin, and the Japanese star is determined to deliver a strong performance. The Montreal tournament served as her preview for the American Grand Slam, and her level there has sparked plenty of discussion about the potential she could unleash.

The coaching situation of Naomi Osaka

Now the big question regarding Naomi Osaka is who is going to train her for the US Open, the last grand Slam of the year. Now the staff team of the Japanese is evaluating all the options that can occupied that place for the last big tournament of the season. The decision could be crucial for her chances in New York.

According to Polish journalist Daniel Senkowski, who posted on his X account, Osaka is planning to continue her journey with coach Tomasz Wiktorowski. Senkowski cited information provided by the player’s agent.

“Naomi Osaka will continue cooperation with Tomasz Wiktorowski, confirmed me, player’s agent, Stuart Duguid.” Wrote Daniel Senkowski and added that, “Osaka recently reached the final in Montreal with Wiktorowski, it was a trial period for them. Their next tournament together is the US Open.”

Wiktorowski has established himself as one of the top tennis coaches, playing a major role in Iga Swiatek’s career by helping his compatriot win several tournaments. Since this year, he has been working alongside Naomi Osaka, with the Japanese star showing improved results and delivering several strong, standout performances.

Naomi Osaka and her unforgettable US Open journey

Not for nothing, Naomi Osaka has good memories at the US Open, a tournament she has won on two different occasions. Those victories cemented her status as one of the most formidable players on the sport’s biggest stage.

Everyone remembers the 2018 US Open, when the Japanese star lifted her first Grand Slam trophy, defeating Serena Williams in an electrifying final. In 2020, she claimed her second title at Flushing Meadows with a memorable victory over Victoria Azarenka. With that win, she became the first Asian player to capture three singles Grand Slam titles.

Now, everything is set for a new journey toward the trophy in New York. Osaka hasn’t won a Grand Slam title since her victory over Jennifer Brady at the 2021 US Open. She is once again believing in the possibility of a new championship, this time, potentially alongside Tomasz Wiktorowski, a coach who knows how to deliver big results.
