Name of Canelo Alvarez’s next possible opponent after Terence Crawford fight leaks out

After Canelo Alvarez‘s controversial and weak fight against William Scull in Raid, the Mexican fighter will look to imitate the victory on September 13 against Terence Crawford. Las Vegas, Nevada, will host the fight for the undisputed super middleweight championship in front of the Netflix cameras and the attentive gaze of the fans.

Canelo currently holds all four major belts: WBA, WBC, WBO and IBF and does not plan on dropping any of them. However, he already has his next opponent.

The truth is that the rematch between Chris Eubank Jr. and Conor Benn could turn out to be much more than a fight for pride. The winner could be guaranteed to step into the ring and face Canelo in 2026 as part of the Aztec’s alleged $400 million contract with Riyadh Season for four fights.

Canelo’s new opponent

Leaning toward the possibility of the IBO middleweight champion repeating his win over Benn as he did in April of this year, fans are getting excited about the fight against Alvarez. And not only them.

Even before the first bout between them at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, His Excellency told Sky Sports that they were working towards “whoever the winner is, he fights Canelo. If Eubank wins, he will have the opportunity to fight Canelo in early 2026.”

Now, Boxing Only Full Fights posted on their Instagram this Sunday that Turki Alalshikh is keeping his word, but for that to happen, Eubank Jr. has to win again in his next fight (tentatively scheduled for September 27), and Canelo must beat Crawford.

Eubank Jr’s manager, Elliott Amoakoh, confirmed this to TalkSport: “Hopefully Canelo gets through Terence Crawford, we get through Conor Benn and then they’ll do it next. So that’s the negotiations that’s going on right now. Turki promised it to us. If Chris comes through that, Eubank Jr-Canelo, here we go. That’s what we want, we get through Conor Benn and then we want Canelo.”

Will we see Canelo fight Eubank Jr?
