Myles Garrett aims to sack Aaron Rodgers: Literally and figuratively

Aaron Rodgers hasn’t even taken a snap for the Pittsburgh Steelers, and already the AFC North is feeling the heat.

After news broke that the 41-year-old future Hall of Famer signed a one-year, $13.65 million deal with the Steelers, Cleveland Browns star Myles Garrett didn’t mince words when asked about the addition.

“I think it’s a good opportunity to put him in the graveyard,”Garrett said with a grin, nodding to his now-iconic Halloween tradition of planting tombstones in his yard for every quarterback he’s sacked.

Rodgers isn’t on that list-yet. In their only meeting back in 2021, Garrett came away sackless, and the Browns lost a tight one to Rodgers’ Packers, 24-22. That memory still lingers.

Garrett’s Sack List Is Missing One Name He Wants Badly

Last season, Garrett took home Defensive Player of the Year honors with 17 sacks and countless game-wrecking plays. His Halloween display has become as much a part of Cleveland fall tradition as pumpkin spice and heartbreak-but Rodgers remains one of the few elite QBs missing from the tombstones.

That could change on October 12, when the Browns travel to Pittsburgh for a divisional clash that suddenly has more juice than ever. Garrett’s eyes are locked on that date.

“He’s one of the greats,”Garrett told NFL Network. “I want that sack for a lot of reasons-but yeah, one of them is for Halloween.”

Rodgers, meanwhile, joins a Steelers team in transition. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, he passed his physical Saturday and signed the deal shortly after. Pittsburgh hopes he’ll stabilize a quarterback room that lacked consistency throughout 2024.

But for Garrett, it’s not about the Steelers’ big picture. It’s about a long-overdue sack, a little backyard mischief-and maybe some bragging rights.

“I’ve got the tombstone ready,” he laughed.“Just need the moment.”
