Mookie Betts’tough confession about this terrible season with the Los Angeles Dodgers

The current Los Angeles Dodgers player, Mookie Betts, is aware that this season has not been his best, despite a career destined for the Hall of Fame. However, within this positive aspect of potentially becoming a baseball immortal, his legacy could be tarnished by his poor performance this year.

Dave Roberts is one of the defenders of the struggling star, and even the fans have rallied behind their player, hoping he can return to his former self.

The worst season of Mookie Betts’ career

Mookie Betts is enduring his worst campaign since entering MLB, posting his lowest OPS in a season, more than 0.100 points below his previous worst mark of 0.803. He’s currently hitting below the league average with an OPS+ of 90.

“Yes and no,” Betts commented when asked if he’s worried about his stats. “Yes, because you know you can’t salvage the season. But no, because I want to be in the Hall of Fame one day, and you have to accept these numbers are always going to be there. It’s kind of hard to accept that. But at the end of the day, it is what it is. I just have to find ways to help the team win.”

Dave Roberts has tried to help Betts by adjusting his spot in the batting order, but the truth is, it hasn’t been very successful until this past week. After going hitless in the first four games of August, Betts has now strung together a five-game hitting streak, including three multi-hit games since August 5.

The struggles the player is facing are attributed to a fracture he suffered last season, which he says has kept him from playing at his usual rhythm.

“I really haven’t been right since I came back from my hand last year,” Betts said.

Betts broke his hand last June and was sidelined for nearly two months. “Think about it,” Betts said. “Go and look at it. I haven’t been right since.”
