Mookie Betts can achieve a unique record in this World Series

With three World Series titles, one with the Boston Red Sox in 2018 and two more with the Dodgers in 2020 and 2024, Mookie Betts is just four wins away from joining a select group of players who have won the championship four times since the start of the divisional era in 1969.

If the Dodgers manage to defend their crown against the American League champion, Betts would become the only active player with four titles and only the fourth without having worn the New York Yankees jersey. Mookie Bets expressed his feelings about this possible achievement in MLB:

It’s something that hasn’t been done in a long time. I think we’re all determined to do it and we understand that it’s the ultimate goal

Mookie Betts

Currently, only 18 players have won four World Series in the Divisional Era; a fifth ring would take Betts into an even more special category, as only six players have reached that number since 1969.

How close are the Dodgers to winning back-to-back MLB championships?

After an impeccable postseason in which they have lost only one game against the Philadelphia Phillies, the Dodgers have confirmed that they are still a dominant team and have their sights set on repeating the title. Los Angeles could make history with its second consecutive championship because it has not happened in more than two decades.

The last time a team won two consecutive World Series titles was the New York Yankees between 1998 and 2000. Since then, no one has been able to repeat and Mookie Betts knows it:

Being able to play twice in a row is special. At least we got this far

However, he also warned that they cannot be trusted even if they are put as favorites:

We still have another series to play, so we can’t get too far ahead of ourselves

Mookie Betts: The silent leader looking to seal his legacy with the Dodgers

Beyond the statistics, Mookie Betts represents a figure of quiet and effective leadership in the Dodgers organization; his experience, competitive attitude and consistency in decisive moments have made him one of the most important players in Major League Baseball.

If he wins this World Series, he would add a new ring to his collection and would officially enter the conversation of the most successful baseball players of his generation and possibly in modern MLB history because it is not just about talent or versatility, but about his ability to be present when his team really needs him.

The Dodgers are awaiting their World Series opponent between the Seattle Mariners and Toronto Blue Jays, who are playing Game 7 of the American League Championship Series, and the winner will have a tough test against the reigning MLB champions.
