Tayler Saucedo had a rough outing on Wednesday night, allowing five runs in an 11-2 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies.

After the game, he shared horrific messages he had received. He added that the death threats were related to sports betting. “@sauce07 [Saucedo] I hope you get your head blown off while walking around Philadelphia, you autistic, ugly piece of shit”, read a post on an Instagram story tagging Saucedo from an account with the username @gilbertsgoonsquad.

The message added: “The death of your wife/girlfriend would also be amazing”. The account no longer exists.

The protagonists’ response

The 32-year-old posted the message on X, publicly shaming the fan for his horrible actions.

“I understand that you want me gone today and this year in general,” said the player, who currently has an 11.05 ERA so far this season. “Believe me, I want to win as much as all of you, whether I’m here or not.”

Her teammate, Kelsie Scott, called the note “absolutely disgusting”. “A friendly reminder that athletes are human beings and have real mental health,” Scott began

“It’s absolutely disgusting what so many of you feel comfortable saying when you’ve never lived under the daily pressure that they live under. This is never okay under any circumstances and I hope these words never reach someone who can’t stand them. I love you, @saucey07″

Scott added that they both received other messages that were “much more graphic” than the one Saucedo posted and that “each one” was linked to gambling.

The most important fight of all

In addition, Saucedo noted that the criticism does not reach him and that he is only focused on playing, “I already played nine innings with my mental health and won, so there is nothing they can tell me that I have not already told myself. We will continue with everything! Thank you all for the love as always. Go Mariners, always!”

Saucedo, who has pitched in MLB for five years, entered Wednesday’s game with Seattle trailing 3-1.

He then allowed four hits, walked one and recorded only one out.

This gave Philadelphia a sweep over the Mariners, who have now lost five in a row and seven of their last eight.
