MLB fans mock Juan Soto for his fielding against Marlins: 800 million dollars

After the New York Mets defeated the Miami Marlins 6-5 on Wednesday night, fans mocked Juan Soto’s disastrous fielding on social media.

During the game, the Dominican lost the ball while trying to make a play in the bottom of the seventh inning. The Marlins took advantage of his fielding error and scored.

And there is no doubt about the Dominican’s good performance as a slugger, as he is a key player in crucial moments, hitting home runs. The reality is that his fielding performance is not the best.

Total Pro Sports points out that while many fans believe the All-Star could win another Silver Slugger, his chances of winning a Gold Glove look slim.

Fans mock Juan Soto’s performance on social media

After Juan Soto’s error against the Marlins, fans did not hesitate to take to social media to mock him.

“Bro is making so much money and doesn’t even have his right foot forward when he makes a routine play,” shared one user.

“I can understand a Silver Slugger, but a Gold Glove for Soto is a JOKE,” wrote one fan.

“All those Mets fans trying to tell us on Monday that he’s a great defender after he made that catch, hahaha!” said one netizen.

“He was so trash in the Padres outfield, it’s frustrating to watch him not even try,” reads another comment

“As I said, an exorbitant amount of money for a DH,” someone else said.

“$800 million hahahahahaha,” wrote another fan, recalling that the Dominican signed a historic 15-year, $765 million contract with the Mets, which could even exceed $800 million in 2029.
