Mike Tyson has been one of the major rumbling news stories in the past year thanks to his fight againstJake Paul which was initially postponed, but now many opinions of the great former boxer have changed.
The 58-year-old’s return to the ring was a huge moment for boxing but ultimately appeared ill-thought-out given the ease with which Paul was able to beat him earlier in 2024.
The latest person to offer their thoughts on Tyson is podcaster Joe Rogan, who sat down and chatted with Michael Waddell about how many celebrities put on an act in the public eye but are very different behind closed doors.
Tyson is not always so scary
Waddell is the host of hunting show ‘Bone Collector’. Talking about ‘the baddest man on the planet,’ Waddell revealed that, unlike his moniker, Tyson is actually quite the opposite in real life.
“As a boxer, I idolized him, he was the toughest, baddest guy in the ring. But as a person, I didn’t know much about him back then. Now, when I listen to him, I realize what a sweetheart of a man he is. He says things you wouldn’t expect. Like, I remember when he asked you, ‘Joe, you ever get aroused when you fight?’ You giggled, but he was dead serious! That’s the kind of insight you get now, and it’s fascinating,” he said.
Rogan himself chimed in with an opinion on Tyson, saying: “He’s a sweet guy, but there’s a monster in there, dude, and he can hit that switch.”
