Jake Paul and Mike Tyson showed no bad blood after their infamous fight on November 15 as the pair met at the inauguration part of Donald Trump, and posed for a photograph together just two months on.
The boxers clashed at the AT&T Stadium in Texas in a controversial bout that was mocked for both the adapted rules in place to protect the 58-year-old, and the product on show as the YouTuber easily dominated affairs.
Save a few flashes of energy from Iron Mike, he rarely offered any output and the larger and younger 27-year-old Paul simply took no risks and managed his way to a unanimous decision victory live on Netflix.
It’s thought The Problem Child made $40m from the night, whilst the ex-WBC champion of the world made around $20m. The fight smashes records for any fighting event not held at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, including Joe Frazier vs. Muhammad Ali‘s Fight of the Century in 1971.
Now the bout is over, and a several weeks have passed, it seems as though both opponents are on good terms after seeming more than friendly with each other during Trump’s second inauguration on January 20.
“Best Friends,” Paul captioned the post on Instagram, earning over 1.5 million likes and 9000 comments in a video showed him lifting the tuxedo-wearing ex-heavyweight champion onto his shoulders.
Fans claim it proves fight rumors true
To be fair to him, Tyson immediately said after the fight that the main accomplishment for him was that he didn’t die so it seems as though he genuinely never had anything serious against Paul.
But disgruntled fans who tuned in to watch their clash in Texas now believe this only further evidence the pair never had a serious fight, feeling they’re simply too friendly for there to have been any bad blood.
One user commented, “Speechless… won’t watch another Jake Paul fight in my life #longliverealboxing.”
A second added, “Little less of a Tyson fan now.”
And a third said, “They bamboozled everyone and made millions. I’d be friends too!”
Whilst a fourth wrote, “Best business partners, Jake Paul got paid for beating up an old guy. And Tyson got paid for taking a few punches from a youngster. Yeah, they’re friends.”
