It’s almost time for Iron Mike Tyson to roll back the years against Jake Paul on November 20, and as Kid Dynamite’s return to the ring becomes more and more anticipated, the ex-UFC champion, Conor McGregor, has offered the 58-year-old key advice.
Tyson, who reigned as undisputed heavyweight champion in the 1990s, will trade punches with Jake Paul at the home of the Dallas Cowboys, the AT&T Stadium, for the first time in a professional capacity since 2005.
And although the fight, broadcast by Netflix, will have unique rules such as eight rounds lasting two minutes each, whilst both opponents will wear 14-ounce gloves, fans are still eager to see what the most feared fighter on the planet in his prime has to offer.
One of those is the former-UFC lightweight champion and charismatic McGregor, who advised the boxing legend to “rattle” Paul’s cages inside the ring as the YouTuber-turned-boxer faces his second-toughest opponent yet.
“I hope Mike rattles the little dope,” McGregor said of the Tyson-Paul fight via Duelbits. “No one gives a f**k about him.”
McGregor tips zero health concerns for Iron Mike
If there’s one person who can “rattle” anyone in the world with punches, it’s Mike Tyson. The New York native gained a fearsome reputation in his youth by winning his first 19 fights by knockout and becoming world champion at the age of 20.
Through his career, he won 50 fights and stopped 44 opponents by dropping them through his exceptional peek-a-boo fighting style which saw him slip guards and throw devasting punches in bunches.
But could he stop Paul? The 58-year-old father-of-seven recent experienced a health scare when he suffered an ulcer flare up in May, forcing the July 20 date to be delayed to November. So is he in good enough condition to fight? McGregor declares yes.
“You had a little health scare,” McGregor told Tyson via a social media livestream. “I don’t know what happened to you on the plane.
“But you look great now mate, you look great now for real so off you go, you love to see it.”
