Tyson, who was 58 at the time, not only lost the fight that broke viewership records thanks to Netflix’s global reach, but admitted to suffering serious health problems that led him to barely remember the fight, exposing his age and physical condition. Now, the former heavyweight champion insists he is in better health and has no excuses.

Tyson spoke on Hard Rock Bet and explained what happened to him in the fight with Paul and why he could do better now. “I didn’t want to use it as an excuse, but I had some really serious health problems, although I’m fine now.“
“I have no excuses. I feel good right now. This is the best time I’ve felt. I can’t wait to start getting in the ring. I learned from my last fight,” Tyson added about his current fitness ahead of his next fight with Mayweather.

Although it has been a year since the fight between Tyson and Paul, the legendary boxer already wants his rematch and despite the questioning of that last fight, it was his manager, Amer Abdallah, who defended his pupil.
“I know it sounds like a cliche, but I’m proud of a 58-year-old man who came in and did things that 20-year-olds couldn’t do. Mike pushed himself to the limit every day in the gym,” Abdallah told The Sun Sport.
Regarding the widespread doubts about that fight and the idea that it was all “fixed,” Tyson’s manager was categorical. “I always get told, ‘Was there a deal? Was there something?’ And I’ll tell you the answer is absolutely not.”
With the fight between Tyson and Paul already in the past, it seems that everything is in place for a possible rematch. Mike’s schedule is starting to get tighter and it is expected that this time he will live up to expectations.
