Microphone picks up Shedeur Sanders’ comment to David Njoku after his touchdown that shows his power on the Browns

Shedeur Sanders‘ influence in Cleveland became impossible to ignore on Sunday as a mic’d-up moment revealed the quarterback directing a sharp and emotional command at David Njoku after a touchdown on December 7, signaling how firmly he is asserting himself.

The moment spread fast online because it captured Sanders‘ personality on a day when his leadership mattered as much as his production as his rising command within a struggling team has grown with every start, even amid difficult late-game outcomes.

When the broadcast audio caught Sanders yelling at Njoku to “get your b*tch a*s up,” after their touchdown connection, it showcased the edge he brings to an offense fighting for rhythm.

The clip highlighted both urgency and accountability between teammates and his message arrived during a career-best performance in which he threw for 364 yards and three touchdowns while adding a rushing score.

However, the Browns‘ late push came up short as two failed two-point conversions left them just behind Tennessee in a 31-29 loss. Cleveland’s decision to remove Sanders for a trick play on the first two-point attempt stunned fans, especially since the unit fumbled the snap.

Momentum dipped, and the Titans capitalized, yet Sanders continued guiding the offense with determination as Harold Fannin Jr. emerged as his most reliable target, finishing with eight catches for 114 yards and a touchdown.

Meanwhile Jerry Jeudy contributed three receptions for 76 yards and his first score of the season as the passing attack found explosive rhythm as Sanders led two final drives in the last five minutes, cutting into a 31-17 deficit.

The Browns scored twice, yet both two-point plays failed, leaving them unable to complete the comeback as they slipped to 3-10 for the year with their late-game execution faltering at critical moments once again.

Cleveland totaled 22 first downs, their second-highest mark this year, though long-range consistency remained elusive. Still, Sanders‘ aggressive throws, including a 60-yard strike to Jeudy, highlighted how confidently he is operating in pressure situations.

While the Browns continue searching for consistent success, Sanders‘ mic’d-up moment with Njoku captured something beyond frustration-it revealed a quarterback asserting authority.

And Fannin‘s late touchdown and strong yardage total further reflected Sanders‘ ability to elevate his supporting cast.

Deshaun Watson poised for Browns return?

The Browns also opened the practice window for Deshaun Watson, who has been sidelined all with an Achilles injury sustained over the winter as the controversial QB returned in a limited capacity on Dec. 3.

Providing a notable development in Cleveland’s quarterback picture moving forward, Watson had thrown for 1148 yards and five touchdowns before his injury, adding 148 rushing yards and a score.

It’s unclear if he will make it back onto the field in 2025 but even if he does, he will have stern competition from Sanders. His best advantage might be the fact that the Browns owe him $92m as part of the final year of his deal, so they might as well try to use Watson.

“He’ll be out there today, which is outstanding for Deshaun,” head coach Kevin Stefanski said. “He’s has been working so hard, rehabbing.

“Finally to get out there on the practice field with his teammates to go through individual, I think this is really great for him.

“Our focus is obviously getting him back to playing football, practicing football, which he hasn’t done in over a year.”

As Watson ramps up, Sanders‘ emergence remains a crucial storyline for the Browns. His fire, command, and willingness to challenge teammates have sparked a new competitive edge that is reshaping the offensive identity week by week.
