NBC Sports is making a big return to NBA broadcasting, and they’re bringing one of the greatest players of all time with them. Michael Jordan has officially joined NBC and Amazon Prime Video to share his unique basketball perspective with fans.

For the first time in years, Jordan is letting people peek inside the mindset that made him a six-time NBA champion. Instead of sitting at a studio desk debating stats, he’ll take part in special segments that explore how he sees the game-what drives a competitor, how he prepares, and what separates good players from the great ones.

In a recent chat with Kay Adams, Sunday Night Football analyst Cris Collinsworth let the secret slip. He described the project as a “deep dive into the brain of Michael Jordan,” calling it something fans have never seen before. He hinted that it will feel like sitting down with Jordan in a private conversation, hearing the kind of honest thoughts he rarely shares on camera.

NBC’s Return to the NBA Spotlight

NBC hasn’t aired NBA games since 2002, and its comeback is a big deal. The network recently signed an 11-year media rights deal that brings NBA games to NBC, ESPN, and Amazon Prime starting with the 2025-26 season.

According to Sports Illustrated and NBA.com, Jordan will serve as a special contributor, appearing in pre-recorded features that focus on basketball IQ, mindset, and legacy. It’s a move that sets NBC apart from other networks. Instead of filling the air with arguments about who’s better between Jordan and LeBron, NBC is aiming to give fans something different-authentic stories and lessons from one of the most driven athletes in history.

NBC Sports President Rick Cordella called Jordan’s addition “a dream come true for basketball fans.”Amazon Prime will also stream his segments, helping bring his insights to a global audience.

The GOAT’s Quiet Comeback

Since The Last Dance aired in 2020, Jordan has stayed mostly out of the public eye. This new collaboration marks his most significant media appearance in years. For NBC, it’s not just about nostalgia. It’s about tapping into the emotion, mystery, and wisdom that made Jordan a global icon.

With this move, NBC is signaling that it wants to do more than just broadcast games. It wants to tell stories that matter, and there’s no better storyteller than the man who defined basketball greatness.

Fans have seen Jordan win titles, make game-winning shots, and build an empire. Now, they’ll finally hear how it all happened, straight from the source.

For basketball fans, this collaboration could change how the game is covered. Instead of endless arguments, viewers will get moments of reflection, passion, and understanding from someone who’s lived every high and low of the sport.

Jordan’s voice still carries the same weight it did when he wore number 23. Only this time, it’s not about taking the final shot-it’s about sharing what it takes to make one.
