Micah Parsons’s shrewd attempt to lure George Pickens to Green Bay, according to Jordan Love

George Pickens is the NFL’s bone of contention. While his rookie contract expires and the Dallas Cowboys are letting the days go by without initiating negotiations, Micah Parsons is getting in the way, trying to bring the phenomenal receiver to Green Bay, quarterback Jordan Love asserted.

Pickens arrived this year with the Cowboys from the Pittsburgh Steelers to bolster quarterback Dak Prescott’s receiving corps, and it’s safe to say he more than lived up to expectations.

The fourth-year receiver formed one of the most dangerous duos in the NFL alongside CeeDee Lamb. Both were key to making the Cowboys’ offense the best in the regular season.

The statistics confirm it. This season, Pickens ranked:

  • 3rd in yards gained: 1,429
  • 9th in receptions: 93
  • 9th in targets: 137
  • 10th in touchdowns: 9

So, it’s no surprise that Parsons wants to snatch him away from Jerry Jones and put him in green and gold.

Love confirms the Packers want Pickens

In a recent interview with Kay Adams on the Up & Adams podcast, the Packers quarterback confirmed the team’s interest in acquiring one of the Cowboys’ stars.

“If you bring in another player, George Pickens, he had a phenomenal year. He’s a great player,” Love said. “You know, I would love to have the most talented players on our team at all times.”

Love even visualized one of the plays he would run with Pickens in the deep end. “I would throw him a go-ball. I would watch him go up and get it,” the star quarterback explained.

He confirmed that they know each other off the court, so he knows what Pickens is capable of. “I play basketball with him. I know what kind of jump he’s got,” Love explained, revealing another factor that puts Pickens one step closer to Green Bay.

The Parsons Factor and a shared agent

Also in conversation with Adams, CeeDee Lamb asserted that Parsons is trying to steal Pickens away. “Everybody in my face is trying to recruit him, while I’m standing right next to him. Like Micah, for one,” Lamb explained.

Love, for his part, revealed that he, Pickens, and Parsons share the same agent, David Mulugheta. “George got the same agent as well. Yes, we all get together for elite week. David brings us all out together, and we do some cool things.”

But Lamb already drew his line in the sand: “They’re not getting him. He’s a great player, a phenomenal player. He’s a great person. He’s like my brother off the field, he’s like my brother on the field…”

However, as Love warned: “You know, we’ll see.”
