The Dallas Cowboys are heading into the 2025 NFL season on a rocky path, with all eyes on them following a disappointing 2024 season, in which they finished third in the NFC East and missed the playoffs.
Jerry Jones and the front office have made some solid moves in free agency and the NFL Draft. In the first round, they selected Tyler Booker from Alabama to strengthen the offensive line, and in free agency, they acquired George Pickens via a trade with the Pittsburgh Steelers, adding a new weapon for Dak Prescott.
Despite all those efforts, the situation remains very difficult for the Cowboys, as they are in a division with the reigning champions, the Philadelphia Eagles, who still look just as dominant. In addition, the Washington Commanders have made a significant leap in quality with Jayden Daniels, making Dallas’ mission a tough one.
Micah Parsons Gets Playful on Social Media With CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens
The Dallas Cowboys have arguably the best defensive player in the NFL in Micah Parsons, who is still pursuing a new contract worth over $40 million per year – which would make him the highest-paid non-quarterback in the league.
While he hasn’t secured the deal yet, it’s likely to happen – possibly even before the start of the season. One of the goals set by new Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer is for Parsons to truly become the team leader, and so far, he’s rising to the challenge.
Despite not having signed his new contract, Micah Parsons has reported to training camp. Typically, players in contract disputes hold out until a deal is reached, but the former Penn State star has taken a different approach.
Parsons recently left a humorous message on social media, saying that CeeDee Lamb has found a new best friend in George Pickens.
Now, the Cowboys will aim to surprise everyone and see if they can compete with the Philadelphia Eagles – who, incidentally, they will face in Week 1 of the NFL season in the opening game.
