Micah Parsons’ revenge on Jerry Jones is proving tougher than expected, and the Packers are already aiming for everything

Micah Parsons has wasted no time making his mark in Green Bay. The two-time All-Pro pass rusher, shipped out of Dallas in a blockbuster trade this offseason, is already proving to be a difference-maker for the Packers.

And on Thursday night, Lambeau Field turned his success into a not-so-subtle reminder of what the Cowboys gave up. Green Bay’s 27-18 win over the Washington Commanders looked more decisive than the score suggested.

By the final whistle, fans inside Lambeau were showering the field with chants of “Thank you, Jerry,” a pointed dig at Cowboys owner Jerry Jones for parting ways with the 26-year-old linebacker.

From Dallas centerpiece to Green Bay star

Parsons was once the heartbeat of the Cowboys‘ defense, earning four straight Pro Bowl nods and two All-Pro selections in just four seasons. But when contract negotiations stalled, Dallas balked at committing to the long-term extension he was seeking.

Instead, the front office sent him to Green Bay in exchange for two future first-round picks and veteran defensive tackle Kenny Clark, a move that continues to spark outrage in Dallas.

For Parsons, the trade wasn’t just business. It was motivation. “There’s nothing more motivating than when you find out that people you love don’t truly believe in you,” he told Amazon Prime Video’s Kaylee Hartung after Thursday’s victory.

Early returns favor the Packers

That chip on his shoulder is translating directly onto the field. Parsons has recorded a sack in each of his first two games in Green Bay, setting the tone for a defense that has powered the Packers to a 2-0 start. Against Washington, he was relentless in the pass rush, forcing hurried throws and disrupting protection schemes.

His presence has energized a Packers team eager to prove it belongs among the NFC’s elite. Fans at Lambeau have embraced him instantly, and his fiery personality has only deepened the connection.

Meanwhile, in Dallas, the decision to trade Parsons continues to hang over the franchise. For every highlight Parsons delivers in a Packers uniform, the criticism of Jerry Jones grows louder.
