Despite two years remaining on his previous contract, Warner’s $21 million annual average value (AAV) surpasses Baltimore Ravens linebacker Roquan Smith’s $20 million AAV, once again setting the market for his position. Warner has been a cornerstone of the 49ers’ defense, earning four First-Team All-Pro selections in the last five seasons-joining Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett as the only players with that distinction during the same period.
