Micah Parsons, leader of the Dallas Cowboys, is already having issues with George Pickens, the team’s new star

The Dallas Cowboys did not select a single wide receiver in the recent NFL Draft, even though WR2 was a major need for the team. However, Jerry Jones and the team’s front office surprised many by making a trade with the Pittsburgh Steelers to acquire George Pickens, who is undoubtedly a very talented player.

Last year, in a conservative offense like the Steelers’, led some weeks by Justin Fields and others by Russell Wilson, Pickens recorded over 50 receptions, more than 900 receiving yards, and scored three touchdowns.

During the offseason, the Steelers traded with the Seattle Seahawks to acquire DK Metcalf, who immediately became the team’s number one receiver. Combined with Pickens’ questionable behavior, that may have been the reason for moving him to another team.

Now Pickens could be a headache for Micah Parsons

There is no doubt that Micah Parsons is aiming to become the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history, surpassing the contracts of Myles Garrett of the Cleveland Browns and Ja’Marr Chase of the Cincinnati Bengals.

Parsons’ new deal is expected to exceed $40 million per year, but negotiations seem to be at a standstill. His agent, David Mulugheta, revealed: “There has been no progress,” referring to talks with the Cowboys’ front office.

The potential issue with George Pickens is that he will also become a free agent at the end of the year. According to Spotrac, he is projected to earn a four-year, $101 million contract, which would significantly complicate the Cowboys’ financial situation.

Unlike Pickens, who is a great talent but still has much to prove, this season will be critical for him. Parsons, on the other hand, has plenty of credentials to claim he is the best defensive player in the NFL: with four Pro Bowl appearances, two First-Team All-Pro selections, and the 2021 Defensive Rookie of the Year award.

Parsons has 52.5 sacks, 63 tackles for loss, and 112 quarterback hits-and he will almost certainly land a new deal, one that will be historic.
