Micah Parsons gives Jerry Jones reason to regret the trade while calling it “outrageous”

Micah Parsons slammed Jerry Jones by labeling the timing of his trade from the Dallas Cowboys as “outrageous”, and expressing frustration over the mental toll it took just before the season’s start with the Green Bay Packers.

Parsons, who was traded from Dallas to the Packers in the final week before the 2025 season, spoke openly and honestly after his debut in a 27-13 victory over the Detroit Lions.

“These last six months was super draining, super toxic for everyone,” Parsons said via Matt Schneidman on X. “It’s something that I don’t think no player should have to go through.

“The fact that I was traded a week before the season was really outrageous and rough. It’s something where I could’ve been with these guys getting better and better, and we could’ve had probably even more dominant start.”

Despite the challenging transition, the linebacker immediately demonstrated why Green Bay invested heavily to acquire him as he recorded a sack in his first game and energized a defense already looking formidable.

His presence not only strengthens the Packers‘ pass rush but also forces opposing offenses to adjust their game plans weekly and, consequently, transforms them into Super Bowl contenders.

Green Bay‘s defense enters the season with renewed vigor, and Parsons‘ integration amplifies that, and while Jordan Love has been finding his rhythm on offense, the addition of the 26-year-old provides a complementary boost on the defensive side.

Analysts note that his ability to disrupt both the pass and run games could be a turning point for a unit that struggled with consistency last season.

Micah acknowledged the chaotic circumstances of his trade but emphasized the importance of focusing on the long-term objective whilst he also praised his new colleagues for how quickly they accepted him.

“It was rough, but I know what’s at stake,” Parsons added. “I’m just here to help these guys win, and I know the organization sacrificed to bring me in. I’m ready to make it worth it.

Parsons added: “These guys embraced me. They believe in my talents. They believed in me.

“And I’m just gonna give these guys everything I have because I know what’s at stake and I know what they gave up for me to be here.”

Who do the Packers play in Week 2? Date, time and where to watch next Green Bay game

The Packers‘ gamble in acquiring the Pro Bowler so late in the offseason may have initially seemed risky, but his immediate performance suggests a high reward.

If he continues to perform at an elite level, Green Bay could quickly become a top contender in the NFC, rivalling the likes of the Detroit Lions, Minnesota Vikings and Philadelphia Eagles – even the Cowboys.

So Parsons will look to keep the good times rolling and he is next in action on Saturday, September 11 as he and the Packers take on the Washington Commanders – last year’s NFC Championship losers to the Eagles.

The game will take place at Lambeau Field from 20:15 ET/17:15 PT and will be live on Amazon Prime Video.
