Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons is addressing criticism from former teammate DeMarcus Lawrence in a bid to solidify his leadership role on the team. The feud began after Lawrence joined the Seattle Seahawks and suggested that Parsons’ off-field pursuits, particularly his social media activity, might have distracted him from helping the Cowboys achieve greater success.
In a recent interview with All City DLLS, Parsons dismissed the idea, calling the accusations “ridiculous.” Defending his commitment to football, the four-time Pro Bowler stated, “There’s no question I’m locked in. I’m giving my best effort out there on the field.”
While he acknowledged his active online presence, he emphasized that everyone has different ways of managing stress, saying, “Some people drink. Some people smoke. I like to tweet. I like to be active and know about ball.”
Parsons backed up his claims with his on-field performance. Despite injuries early in the 2024 season, he ended the year with an impressive 11 sacks in the final nine games, making a strong case as one of the NFL’s top defenders. He dismissed the idea that his online activity impacted his performance, adding, “When you jump offside on the goal line, is that because I’m tweeting? I think it’s ridiculous, outrageous.”
