The Miami Dolphins are about to ramp up the final phase of their 2025 preseason with the opening of mandatory minicamp from Miami Gardens. After three weeks of organized team activities (OTAs), the Dolphins will conclude their preseason with this camp, which represents the last opportunity to evaluate the team before the break prior to July’s training camp.
This period is crucial for the coaching staff led by Mike McDaniel to make adjustments and assess the team’s readiness ahead of the NFL regular season.
Technically, the Dolphins’ minicamp begins on June 9 with physicals, although on-field practices will run from Tuesday through Thursday. During these three days, the team can keep players at the facility for up to 10 hours a day, with a maximum of 24 hours in total throughout the camp.
Where will Jalen Ramsey play next season?
One of the main stories surrounding the Miami Dolphins minicamp is the situation of defensive back Jalen Ramsey. According to various media reports, Ramsey would not attend the minicamp while the team is actively seeking to trade him, which underlines the tension in the relationship between the player and the franchise.
Head coach Mike McDaniel indicated days ago that he is not closely following the trade talks involving Ramsey, which shows that the Dolphins have practically moved on without him.
During the 2024 season, Ramsey recorded 60 total tackles, 11 passes defensed and two interceptions in 17 games.
New Miami Dolphins reinforcements
On the other hand, the team has just added defensive tackle Ben Stille, a move that fills the roster vacancy created when offensive tackle Terron Armstead was placed on the retired list.
Stille, who originally entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent out of Nebraska, signing with the Dolphins in 2022, rejoins the team after stints with the Browns, Cardinals and Buccaneers
He joins a defensive line that includes Zach Sieler, Benito Jones, Matt Dickerson and newly drafted Kenneth Grant, Jordan Phillips and Zeek Biggers, as well as Matthew Butler and Alex Huntley. Following the conclusion of the mandatory minicamp on June 12, the Dolphins will have approximately six weeks off until the start of training camp in late July.
