Miami Dolphins may be forced to look to the future on offense as Tyreek Hill undergoes wrist surgery

Miami Dolphins star wide receiver Tyreek Hill has finally addressed the lingering wrist injury that plagued him throughout the 2024 season.

After suffering ligament damage during a joint practice with Washington in August, Hill opted to play through the pain rather than undergo surgery. Now, with the season behind him, he has undergone the necessary procedure to repair his left wrist.

Despite battling the injury all year, Hill still put up impressive numbers, finishing with 1,717 yards and 12 touchdowns. However, the physical toll was evident, as he fell short of the 2,000-yard milestone and recorded his first sub-1,000-yard season since 2019.

No setbacks expected in Hill’s recovery

Head coach Mike McDaniel quickly put concerns to rest, assuring fans that the injury wasn’t a major issue.

“It wasn’t broken, just needed some repairs,” McDaniel stated, emphasizing that Hill is expected to make a full recovery.

The plan is to have him focus on conditioning throughout the spring, allowing his wrist to heal before resuming catching drills in the summer.

Hill’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, reinforced the optimism, dismissing any doubts about his availability.

“He’ll be ready,” Rosenhaus said confidently.

Given Hill’s explosive impact on the field, his return to full health is critical for Miami’s offensive success in 2025. With another season alongside quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, Hill will undoubtedly look to reclaim his dominance and possibly chase the elusive 2,000-yard mark once again.

While Hill’s recovery is on track, another major storyline is unfolding in Miami in the form of Jevon Holland‘s impending free agency. Head coach McDaniel acknowledged the situation.

“Jevon has earned the right to test the market,” McDaniel admitted.

Since entering the league, Holland has been a game-changer in Miami’s secondary, making key plays and establishing himself as a leader. Naturally, his talent hasn’t gone unnoticed, and multiple teams are expected to pursue him aggressively in free agency.

The challenge for Miami is its tight salary cap situation. While the Dolphins would love to keep Holland, competing with high-priced offers from other teams won’t be easy. Fans have already noticed subtle signs on social media suggesting that the team may be preparing for life without him.

As free agency approaches, the Dolphins must decide whether to make a strong push to retain Holland or accept the possibility of losing one of their top defensive stars. One thing is certain-big decisions are ahead for Miami’s front office, and the outcome could shape the team’s future.
