Mets told which is the “perfect play” for them in free agency: a Dominican pitcher

The New York Mets had a terrifying end to the 2025 season that left them completely out of the postseason. This failure was largely attributed to the lack of consistency of their starting pitching rotation, as none of them were able to establish the pace the team needed to secure a playoff berth, which directly translated into results with a free fall during the last month of the campaign.

Now in free agency, the Queens team has the opportunity to correct this weakness and according to journalist Jeff Passan of ESPN, the Mets could make a “perfect play” by signing Framber Valdez, an elite and proven left-handed starter in Major League Baseball with extensive experience.
