Mets star Juan Soto takes it personal and is going all Michael Jordan after All-Star snub

It’s no secret that all eyes are on Juan Soto after signing the largest contract in Major League Baseball history, not without first turning his back on the New York Yankees, with whom he played and lost the World Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers. The millions invested have fueled the expectations of New York Mets fans, who are currently enjoying a stellar version of the Dominican star.

Soto‘s start wasn’t as expected, but after a spectacular June, it seems everything is back on track for the player. The bad news is that he was excluded from the list of players attending this year’s All-Star Game.

Juan Soto’s numbers are extraordinary

The Dominican is currently batting .269 with 21 home runs and 52 RBIs, boasting an offensive WAR of 4.0, the best in the National League. Without a doubt, he’s the most notable absence from the star-studded roster, which will include his teammates Francisco Lindor, Pete Alonso, and Edwin Díaz.

Commenting on his absence, former Super Bowl champion with the New York Giants, Brandon London, claimed that Juan Soto will use this snub as motivation, much like Michael Jordan did in The Last Dance.

“[Juan] Soto was snubbed, but I think that he is using that disrespect as fuel and goes full Michael Jordan in The Last Dance, and takes it personal,” London said via Morning Take.

Juan Soto’s promise after missing the All-Star Game

One of the Dominican’s first reactions to the press came in an interview with Dan Martin of the New York Post, where he said he’ll come back stronger, and if it didn’t happen this year, “it’s no big deal.”

With a long stretch of Major League Baseball action still ahead, it’s best for Juan Soto to turn the page and focus on continuing to deliver offensively, as the New York Mets face a tough battle for the top of the National League East Division.
