The New York Mets have been playing for their playoff lives since last week and it is no surprise that so far against the Milwaukee Brewers things have been filled with emotions with two very close games leading up until the end.
The first game of the Wild Card Series made the Mets come back to win with some room to rest, but in the second encounter things had them on the wrong end of the final score. It was 5 to 3 in favor of the home Brewers but that was not the surprise.
They both were going at each other back and forth in the first couple of innings, but when the Mets thought they had a sweep to advance to the National League Division Series, things got out of hand for them an in a bad way.
The comeback
The Mets heading into the eight inning with a one run lead at 3-2, then it all went sideways. The Brewers got all over the Mets pitching and turned the game around for good.
Phil Maton did not delivered and the Milwaukee bats were sounding caping it of with a home run by Garrett Mitchell. The final score was 5-3 and after Devin Williams shut the door, the game was secured.
With this, the Brewers tie the Wild Cards Series a game a piece and now a decisive Game 3 will be played on Thursday to determine who advances to the Divisional Series against the Philadelphia Phillies.
