Mets fans are fed up with Carlos Mendoza and David Stearns: they want them out

“We shouldn’t be one hit or one play away. We’re better than that. This is crazy. Carlos Mendoza can’t continue as manager, regardless of whether the Mets make the playoffs or not. Get the hell out of here. And take Stearns with you!”

“Every move Stearns has made in 2025 has hurt them, with the lone exception of Clay Holmes. Soto/Alonso were Steven Cohen signings, and are the two reasons they’re even in position to make the playoffs. But Stearns’ pitching staff has been brutal. The prospects saved them.”

“If they don’t make the playoffs, clearly Mendoza will be gone. Fire this guy after the season. We shouldn’t be one hit or one play away. We’re better than that. This is crazy.”

New York Mets’ 2025 MLB schedule

The New York Mets journey in MLB 2025 is an unreal drop. From their best record in Major League Baseball (45-24) from Opening Day through June 12, 2025, they are now tied at 80-76 for the last National League Wild Card.

The New York Mets continue to slide, the Cincinnati Reds have the head-to-head tiebreaker advantage. That means if both teams finish with the same record, it will be the Cincinnati Reds who will advance.

Until July 27, 2025, the New York Mets were leading the National League East Division by a game and a half. Now, after losing 11 of their last 15 games, they have put all their playoff hopes in jeopardy.
