Messi’s false betrayal of Adidas for Nike: the latest social media hoax

World-class footballers like Lionel Messi always have to be aware of every move they make, as cameras follow them 24/7 everywhere they go. With million-dollar contracts with different brands, the prestige of the club he plays for and his personal image, Messi must be very careful with his actions, because otherwise, he may be the subject of fake news on social networks.

This is what happened to the Inter Miami star, who went to an event with his wife and while entering the venue, was photographed and also recorded by the different media present. However, what was a quiet entrance, ended in a false accusation that could have given more than one problem to the Argentine.

Is Messi switching to Nike?

In a video broadcast on X, Messi is seen arriving at the event with his wife, but what caught the attention was the sneakers he was wearing, as from a distance they seemed to be from the Nike brand and it is known worldwide that Messi is sponsored by Adidas.

The video on social media sparked a wave of comments and insinuations, but it was quickly debunked, as it was confirmed that the real brand of the sneakers was Off-White and not Nike. What is true is that at first glance the sneakers were very similar to those of Nike, so they lent themselves to confusion that ultimately came to nothing.

Messi’s message to Dembele after winning the Ballon d’Or

Yesterday was a great day for the world of football, as Ousmane Dembele won the Ballon d’Or over figures such as Lamine Yamal. The Frenchman was chosen as the best of last season and in his speech he remembered his time at Barcelona.

“I learned during that time in Barcelona alongside great players like Andres Iniesta and Lionel Messi. It was exceptional learning,” were the words of Dembele, who recalled the advice given by Messi a few years ago.

After the awards ceremony, Dembele posted on social media and received an unexpected response from Messi: “Great Ous! Congratulations, I’m very happy for you. You deserve it,” was the Argentine’s comment, who congratulated his former teammate and showed his greatness by greeting him.
