Leo Messi has appeared on the YouTube channel ‘Simplemente Futbol’ to talk about his failed attempt to return to FC Barcelona after leaving PSG or his legacy with Argentina, although these were not the only topics discussed by the ’10’. In fact, the Argentine star also dared to assess the meteoric career of the latest great talent from La Masia, Lamine Yamal.

Lamine Yamal has incredible qualities and is already one of the best players in the world

Messi praises Lamine Yamal

At 37 years of age and the footballer with the most titles in the history of the game, Messi is well qualified to talk about a talent from La Masia, as he once was, who is now triumphing in the first team. A name, who along with other icons of world football, are the current idols of young children: “Children watch and imitate everything, they know everyone and follow everyone, because they talk about current players such as Mbappe, Vinicius, Haaland, Lewandowski and Lamine Yamal, being so young is very good. Seriously, it’s incredible,” he said of the Rocafonda player.

For his career and importance at FC Barcelona, Lamine is sometimes compared to Messi. A comparison of the current Blaugrana ’19’ with the legendary ’10’ that he himself wanted to join and lavish praise on: “Impressive what Lamine Yamal is showing, what he is doing and what he has already done. He has already been European champion with Spain,” he said about that title won in Germany last summer by Luis de la Fuente’s pupils.

Although Leo Messi would end up succumbing to the talent that Lamine Yamal shows at 17 years old. A talent that allows him to have enormous potential and a great future: “He is only 17 years old, he is in the process of growth and will continue to grow as a player and contribute things to his game, as I did. He has incredible qualities and is already one of the best players in the world,” he says.
