Lionel Messi broke his silence after Argentina’s recent 4-1 victory over Brazil in the World Cup qualifiers, and highlighted the significance of the South American classic, despite not being able to participate due to injury.

The Argentine star used his social networks to express the pride he feels for his teammates and the special importance of the match against Brazil. Through his official Instagram account, Messi posted:

Inside, outside, anywhere with this team. Always speaking with football. Congratulations on the great game you played last night and also on the victory against Uruguay.

This post by Messi was interpreted as a direct response to previous statements by Brazilian footballer Raphinha, who had previously claimed that Brazil would easily beat Argentina.

The resounding victory not only confirms the excellent footballing moment of the Argentine team, but also fuels one of the most intense and passionate rivalries in world football. Messi, although absent on the pitch, reaffirmed his leadership and emotional commitment to the national team.
